But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9
The idea of worship can be misunderstood, as many people take this verse to mean that it's demanded of God. But worship is an choice that we, as Christians make - to say thank you to our creator.
At New Life we consider worship, along with prayer and the word, to be essential in our relationship with God. It plays a major part in our Sunday morning services, bringing the body of our church together for a short time to say thanks to God.
But worship is also much more than saying thank you, and is instead also an expression of our love for God. It is also an opportunity to remember the great sacrifice Jesus made for us, but also to celebrate in his victory.
Our Worship Team Vision Statement
We as a worship team strive to be the best model of worship for the congregation, without being a distraction to the worshippers in the meeting, and no hint of ego. We will strive to be prepared to minister to each other, to God, and the people of God. Our ultimate destination, individually and corporately, is Worship
Paul wrote:-
Philippians 3:13-15 (The Message)
Focused on the Goal. Chapters 12-14 I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: by no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running and I'm not turning back.
Chapter 15a So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us.
So Reach! Set your sights on the Goal and don’t stop until you have not just touched the tape but won the prize.
And finally, remember Psalms 150:6 Let every living, breathing creature praise GOD! Hallelujah! (The Message)
God Bless You
